An ardent thinker, Shabir is one of the pioneers who conceived the idea of creating an Angel Network in Kashmir. His passion for creating such a network was driven by the predominant realisation that promising business ideas die a painful death here for want of professional mentorship, enabling ecosystem and alternate financing options. His passion rubbed off to other like-minded members and KAN was born

A former IRS officer, Shabir voluntarily opted out of the Income Tax Department while holding the post of Assistant Commissioner, to explore the boundless possibilities that could arise by putting his heart at its right place. Having multiple degrees in Communication and finance, Shabir is also a licensed Tax Professional and Alternate Finance advisor.

Mubashir Wafai

Director

Mubashir is a serial entrepreneur on a mission. He works on the simple premise, that Kashmir needs better teachers to improve the education system to impact the children. He is doing this by shaking up the traditional and outdated schooling system.

Mubashir an engineering graduate, is one of the founding members of Oasis Group of Schools and Foundation World School. He is also Managing Director of Aloha J&K which has been a pioneer in Abacus education and personality development of children, for the last 18 years.

He is also playing an instrumental role in building an entrepreneurial culture in the valley, with his acumen of developing collaborative business models notably in the sunrise sectors.

Jumsheed Hussain

Director

Jumsheed is currently Executive Director of Credit and Risk Management at Qatar Development Bank. He is holding the position since 2012, having joined QDB as Risk Manager in 2011.

Previously Jumsheed worked with Ernst & Young in its Financial Services and Risk Management practice in the Middle East, and prior to that he worked for Dun and Bradstreet as Enterprise Risk Management project manager for South Asia, the Middle East and Africa

Jumsheed has extensive domain banking and consulting expertise in the field of Credit Management and Enterprise risk management. His areas of specialization include credit analysis and processing, credit risk identification and measurement, ALM and market risk management, Operational risk and BCP, Basel-II Implementation including ICAAP.

Jumsheed is a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), and has the Certification in Control Self-Assessment from the Institute of Internal Auditors in addition to being a Certified Information Systems Auditor from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association in the USA. He also holds a degree in agriculture from SKUAUST-Kashmir

Moheet

Director

Moheet is an operations expert who currently heads Brand Operations of Opontia; A Riyadh –Based company that acquires local e-commerce brands worldwide. With Opontia, Moheet is building the multi-country operational structure managing Cross Border inventory movement, E-Commerce Fulfillment, and Customer Service. He previously headed the seller operations vertical for ‘Noon’ in Saudi Arabia.

He comes with more than a decade of entrepreneurial and leadership experience in building multi-million dollar e-commerce ventures such as his most successful one: Kashmir Box.

Moheet holds both a BCA and an MBA from the university of Kashmir.
